New Year’s Eve in Morocco

Day 1 (28 December): Arrival – Marrakech

Pick-up at Marrakech airport, private transfer to your riad.

Day 2 (29 December): Marrakech (guided visit)

Guided visit in Marrakech medina (the ancient part of the city). The visit begins with the Koutobia Mosque and Minaret, the largest in Marrakesh, inspired by other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat, of splendid harmony is now the spiritual centre of Marrakech. The visit will then continue to the neighbourhood of the kasbah mosque, where you we will visit the Saadian Tombs, one of the only remains of the Saadian dynasty, with Sultan’s Ahmed al-Mansour ed-Dahbi finest vault made with Italian Carrara marble. Later we will visit The Bahia Palace, an example of the aristocratic life of the Muslim Middle Ages, and where its ambassador’s hall stands out, with its ceiling in cedar wood. The visit will continue on foot, through the famous “Jemaa el F’naa Square” declared World Heritage Site. Free lunch and rest of the afternoon free.

Day 3 (30 December): Marrakech – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, early departure through the Atlas Mountains through the mountain pass of Tizin Ticka towards Ouarzazate. Panoramic view of the city and of the Kasbah of Taourirt, once residence of the Pasha Glaoui. We will visit of its main rooms, including the room of the “Pacha” with beautiful views to the valley. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4 (31 December): Ouarzazate – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Desert)

After breakfast, departure on the road crossing the route of the ‘thousand kasbahs’ visiting ‘en route’ the Todra Gorges. After Erfoud, we will leave the main road for tracks of wide horizon until we reach the high dunes of Merzouga where we will take a camel to the camp where we are spending the night. On the way we will have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular sunset. Tonight, we will celebrate the arrival of the New Year around the fire and under the stars of the Desert. Dinner and accommodation in a nomad camp. End of year celebration party in the desert.

Day 5 (1 January): Merzouga (Desert) – Alnif – Nkob – Ouarzazate

Today, New Year’s Day, you will have the possibility to watch the sunrise over the dunes of the Desert. After breakfast, departure to Ouarzazate by the route that crosses Alnif and Nkob. You will enjoy spectacular views of the Draa Valley and visit the Ksar of Tamnougalt, before arriving in Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night.

Day 6 (2 January): Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, before returning to Marrakech, visit of the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it is the most imposing ksar (Kasbah) in southern Morocco. Panoramic view of the region with the High Atlas in the background. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon. Accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 7 (3 January): Marrakech – Departure

At the indicated time, private transfer to the airport of Marrakech (it is recommended to be in the airport 3 hours before departure). End of our services.
