7 Days Imperial Cities Tour from Casablanca
Day 1: Casablanca (guided tour)
This tour will start in the commercial capital of Morocco. We will take you to see the lively centre of the city with its Art Deco architecture and the modern Corniche d'Aiin Diab spa. You will also visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, the second largest religious building in the world, open to non-Muslims.
Day 2: Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes
After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave towards Rabat. Rabat is the political and administrative capital of Morocco. There you can visit the picturesque Oudaia Kasbah, the Hassan Tower and the Chellah necropolis. We will then leave Rabat towards Meknes. There you will have the opportunity to see the door of Bab el-Mansour Aleuj (Gate of Victorious Renegade), it is said that it is the best gate in Meknes or even Morocco. Your visit along the ramparts of Medina will also include the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, as well as Heri-es-Souani and the Bassin de l'Ageudal.
Day 3: Meknes - Volubilis - Fez
After breakfast we will leave the capital Ismaalian behind and travel through the countryside until we reach the ancient Roman city of Volubilis. There you will have time to explore this archaeological site incorporating the best preserved Roman ruins in North Africa, a Unesco World Heritage site. Of interest is the Basilica, Diana mosaic and the bath nymphs and the triumphal arch. We will continue towards the imperial city of Fez where you can stay in a Riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 4: Fez (guided tour)
You will spend most of the day with a local guide, exploring the attractions of Fez. The city was founded 1,000 years ago by the second Moulay Idriss. The tour will start from the door of the Royal Palace and will take you through the narrow streets of the medina in the Jewish quarter and the tanneries. This tour highlights all the historical and cultural attractions including the Bou Inania Medersa and the Karaouiyine Mosque. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit the ceramic cooperative to see traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. In the afternoon we will take you to admire a panoramic view over the medina and visit the new part of the city to have a modern experience of Fez.
Day 5: Fez - Ifrane - Beni Mellal - Marrakech
We will leave Fez after breakfast to travel through a varied landscape of the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will drive through Ifrane, known as the "Little Switzerland" due to its appearance with the Swiss alpine resort and from there to Beni Mellal, a modern city on the edge of the great plain of Tadla. The city is famous for its oranges and olive groves that extend to the horizon. Continuing our way to Marrakech, we will pass through some of the richest agricultural areas of the country.
Day 6: Marrakech (guided tour)
In the morning, your local guide will take you to see the historical sites of Marrakech including the Koutoubia Mosque, the Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the souks of the Medina, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the famous Ben Youssef Medersa. In the afternoon your guide will take you to visit the Majorelle and Menara gardens. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in an Hotel / Riad.
Day 7: Marrakech
Depending on your flight time, there may be an opportunity to make some minute purchases before we pick you up and take you to the airport.
